Frying pans are an indispensable part of the kitchen. It is difficult to keep them in good condition because they tend to get dirty and greasy quickly, especially on their lower part, which gives them a sloppy and sticky appearance.

It can be tempting to throw them away and buy new ones when they darken, but that’s not necessary because it’s possible to make them shine again using products we all have at home.

There are a few tricks to keeping pans looking like new, such as not pouring cold water over them while they’re still hot to preserve their nonstick properties. If it’s too late for you and yours have a film of grease that seems impossible to remove, don’t worry:  here are some tips to keep them shiny.

baking pans

To clean: baking soda and vinegar

In addition to removing dirt, this trick helps  to eliminate bad odors and disinfect the utensil . Sprinkle the baking soda underneath the pan or saucepan until it’s completely covered all the way to the edge, then add the vinegar on top. Let sit for about 20 minutes, then patiently scrub the area in circular motions with a scrubbing sponge.

To restore shine: a glass-ceramic cleaner

If they are used to shine the hob, they can also be used on  the bottom of the pan . Spread a little of the cleaner that you usually use to clean ceramic hobs. Use an aluminum scouring sponge to remove the residue, which will be easily removed thanks to the effect of the product. Be sure to rinse the pan thoroughly with soap and water.
